Upload a photo of the boat and Tedooo's design technology draws her in cut glass in about a minute, free. Approve it and check out; the studio then checks the design against your photo, cuts every piece of glass to shape, sets it in relief, seals the float frame and ships it tracked, in about five weeks.

How does the design get drawn?
On the create page you upload a photo of the boat and, if you want one, type her name. Tedooo's design technology reads the photo and draws the piece as cut glass in roughly a minute: the hull, the rig or the wheelhouse, the water she sits on, and the frame around it all.
The drawing is free and needs no card. If the sheer is wrong or the name came back misspelt, change the photo or the text and let it draw again; it stays free until you approve one. What you approve is exactly what the studio builds.
What happens after I approve?
You pick a size, 30 × 30 or 50 × 50 cm, and check out through Tedooo, which takes the payment and tracks the delivery. Nothing is charged before that, and no glass is cut until the payment clears.
Before the first cut, the studio lays the design beside your photograph and checks the two against each other: the hull colour, the stripe, the number of windows in the wheelhouse, the shape of the canopy. If something in the design would come out wrong in glass, you hear from a person before anything is cut.
How is the glass cut and set?
The glass is sorted by colour into small dishes to match the design, then every piece is scored and snapped to its shape with a glass cutter and finished at the edge. The hull goes down first, then the deck and the rig, then the water, and each piece is placed with tweezers and fixed with clear adhesive so it stands a little off the panel.
- The design is checked against the photograph
- The glass is sorted by colour to match it
- Each piece is cut to shape and the edges finished
- Hull, deck, rig and water are placed in that order, in low relief
- The second acrylic sheet is sealed over the top
- The four standoffs are fitted and the piece is packed
The waterline takes the longest: it is where the hull meets the sea, and if it is a hair off the whole boat looks wrong. The parts of the piece are gone through one by one in the materials guide.
How long does each stage take?
About a minute for the drawing, a few days for the check and the sorting, and most of the rest for the cutting and setting. The sealing and packing are the last day or two.
| Stage | Who | Roughly how long |
|---|---|---|
| Drawing the design | Tedooo's design technology | About a minute |
| Approval and checkout | You, through Tedooo | As long as you like; nothing is charged until you check out |
| Checking the design against the photo | The studio | A day or two |
| Cutting and setting the glass | The studio | Most of the weeks |
| Sealing, standoffs, packing | The studio | A day or two |
| Shipping, tracked | The carrier | The rest of the 32–36 days |
Today's estimate is 32–36 days door to door, and the figure for your order is shown before you pay. The lead time guide has the dates to order by for a gift.
Questions this leaves
Who draws it and who makes it?
Tedooo's design technology draws the design from your photo. The studio makes it: the glass is cut, set and sealed by hand, and the design is checked against your photograph first. The purchase itself runs through Tedooo.
Can the design be changed once I have approved it?
Before you check out, as often as you like: change the photo or the name and let it draw again, free. After the payment clears the glass is cut to the approved design, so write to the studio the same day if something must change, and a person will tell you honestly whether it still can.
Is every piece made by hand?
The drawing is Tedooo's; everything after it is hands. Each piece of glass is cut, placed and fixed by a person at the bench, which is why no two pieces are the same even from the same design.
